OLD CITY

& PUNTA CARRETAS

This tour is ideal for tourists coming by Cruiseships. The ship docks at the port and we
wait at the arrival! Discover the history without contaminating and doing excercise on a flat and safe area. 

Our guided bike tours are offered together with our English guides.
The tour starts in the Old city where you find the largest history of the city, Ministries, governamental offices, headquarter banks, lots of museums art galleries and cultural centers.
While biking we will visit 3 important squares that are crucial in the hisotry of the start of the city. We will be back to the past by looking at its monuments, main Cathedral and historical remainings from the time of the colony to know.

Once we visit the main square called Independance Square where Salvo Palace, Government house and the other importan buildings that surrounds it, we will stop by Solis Theatre, the most important Theatre of the country. From there we will be able to abandon the old city to start enjoying the most famous area in Montevideo, the Rambla of Montevideo, with its total length of 22.2km along our famous River Plate. The widest river in the world!

Our Rambla is the favourite area for Uruguayans and visitors. Our coast if at sea level, and the fresh aire of the River accompanies your route.  As mentioned about the kms, our Rambla is the longest in South America, where pedaling it at sea level, makes it perfect to enjoy along the brand new cycle path!

We will pass along important references until we reach  Punta Carretas, a famous neighbourhood for its first golf course and to discover one of the 18 lighthouses in the country. We go back to where we started by the same route.

Note: route along the Rambla can be altered or shortened depending on the weather conditions of the day. Guides will always care for your safety and comfort.

Two optional departures

A) If you come by Cruiseship and you have completed the form, we wait by the Ministry of Tourism, by the gate to the city. Just 5′ walk from your Cruiseship.
Please take the green path inside the port, till the end. There we will be!

B) If you are in the city we departure from a pre-coordinated in advanced meeting point.

Remember. We use light bikes of different sizes according to your needs. DO not be misleaded by foldable small bikes.

Discover the neighbourhoods along the Rambla

We departure from Pocitos with a local guide.
It is a great tour to appreciate the Ramblas in Montevideo, where  we ride along 4-5 neighbourhoods, where we could see the changes from tall buildings to fenceless residential areas.

We start from Pocitos,  with its talles buildings, where the mayority of the population live in a small area. The LOVELY Pocitos Bay encloses a lovely beach, wherever you stop to appreciate. In Pocitos you will be able to stop by MONTEVIDEO sign, where it is painted according to the celebrations of the time.
We will then head to Buceo, Malvin, Punta Gorda, ending in Carrasco, famous neighbourhoods for originally being the seaside of the city at the beginning of the last century.

It is a quiet residential area with its lovely rich houses, together with the iconic SOFITEL HOTEL, ex CARRASCO HOTEL. constructed in 1920

We return at the starting point or having the chance of ending in Carrasco.

Each neighbourhood with its special characteristic, which makes it unieque on its way along the River Plate.

We ride along the Rambla, on the wide walking pane to offer safety to our tourists.

Visiting sports

We departure from Rambla and going along : Kibon –  Navy Museum  – Yatch Club of Montevideo (History, Look a the sport port . Oceanographic Museum ( History, entrance only if possible).  prosigue Buceo neighbourhood– Malvín neighbourhood,  Punta Gorda neighbourhood, Army square (stop and visit).

Visiting Punta Gorda neighbourhood to reach Carrasco one by its interior. Quiet area where we could enjoy the trees, nature and fanceless mansions.  We will reach SOFITEL HOTEL, the most famous Hotel in Montevideo.

Return or stay in the area.

Note: routes can be shortened depending on the weather condition and ability of the riders. Wind can be present depending on the season it is done.

Salida desde Museo Blanes donde se hace ingreso. Se visita: Jardín Japonés, Rosedal, Monumento a los Charrúas, Monumento a la Diligencia, Paseo del Prado, Hotel del Prado, Jardín Botánico, Casa Presidencial, Castillo Soneira. Se regresa a punto de origen.

Circuito Centro y Parque Rodó

Salida desde MUHAR donde se hace ingreso para visitar en Parque Rodó el Museo de Artes visuales, recorrer las áreas, al igual que la exposición abierta de fotografías con temas diversos. Se regresa a punto de origen.
